In recent years, Real Madrid has developed quite a reputation for acquiring the best young players in the league. The club has largely abandoned its Galactico policy and is now concentrating on acquiring players who can play an important role in the team for the ensuing ten or so years. And it appears that they will now turn their attention to the "Turkish Messi."

Just a month ago, Arda Guler celebrated her 18th birthday. He presently represents Fenerbahce, a major club in Turkey, and has made numerous appearances for them.

Yet more than just Real Madrid appear to be interested in Guler. It would seem that Barcelona is also interested in signing the kid.

Guler is reportedly the object of interest from Real Madrid, according to Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle). He could potentially be acquired by Los Blancos this summer. Yet, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the "Turkish Messi."

Of course, Messi is among the best players in football history, and over the years, a number of players have been associated with him. Yet, none has been able to live up to expectations. It will be interesting to see if Guler ends up being unique.

Guler has so far made an impression for Fenerbahce with his performances. The calibre of the clubs that are associated with him is evidence of it.

It is still unclear whether Real Madrid will try to sign Guler in the summer. Given the level of interest in signing him, Fenerbahce will undoubtedly demand a substantial transfer price in order to let the 18-year-old go. Also, it appears that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are vying for his services.
